LUTCHER, La. (BRPROUD) – The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible homicide after a 68-year-old woman was found deceased in her home.

On Saturday, deputies received a call regarding a wellness concern for a woman on 2nd Street in Lutcher. The sheriff’s office and the Gramercy Police Department responded to the call and found Glenda Edler, 68, deceased in her home.

Her death was ruled a homicide and the sheriff’s office began an investigation. Deputies learned that Edler lived in the home with her son, Lance Louque, who became a person of interest in the homicide.

The sheriff’s office says they received a call around 2:30 p.m. about an accident near Carrot Street. When deputies arrived at the area, they found a grey Toyota in the ditch. They also found a silver Nissan about 200 feet away.

The driver of the Nissan, now identified as Louque, had to be removed from the vehicle and was given medical aid. He was taken to the hospital. The state of his injuries is unknown at this time.

The sheriff’s office says that the accident is under investigation by the Louisiana State Police. The sheriff’s office is over the homicide investigation and asks that anyone with information call (225)-562-2200.
