BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a reported fire in the 300 block of Louise St. around 7:20 a.m.

“Firefighters arrived on the scene to find fire showing in a window in the front of the house,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

BRFD went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

BRFD said firefighters “made their way through the front door and were able to contain the damage to the front room.”

Firefighters had the blaze under control in a little over five minutes.

There was no one in the home when the fire started and help was provided at the scene by BRPD and EMS.

Investigators concluded that the cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.

The home sustained $25,000 in damages.
