ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — Element 25 makes low-carbon battery materials for electric vehicles. The company is in its first phase of planning to help develop Ascension Parish.

With this in the planning phase, CEO and President of Ascension Economic Development Corp. Kate MacArthur said the company is expecting to generate more than 600 new jobs.

With this potential investment, employees’ average annual salaries could exceed 90,000 dollars.

“Just like any good business, they’re looking to the future and making sure that they have the opportunity to expand. So as the market grows and customer demand grows, they would be able to double the size of their facility. So I think people are typically looking at a 5-to-10-year timeline for those types of future expansion,” MacArthur said.

MacArthur said there are hundreds of job options when working at a manufacturing plant.

“You have operators, engineers, and then you have administrative staff and people who do accounting and marketing and some community relations activities. You have the people who are running the facility. So there’s a real diverse set of options when working at a manufacturing plant,” MacArthur said.

They want to get the first phases going in the next two years.
