BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Entergy released a statement gioving an update on Louisiana’s progress on restoring power after the severe weather on Monday night.

Here is the statement from Entergy:

Severe thunderstorms with lightning, high winds and significant rainfall overnight and into this morning brought approximately 23,000 outages to the greater Baton Rouge area. Crews have worked throughout the day to quickly restore power where it was safe to do so. While more rain is expected this evening that could hinder progress, we anticipate that the majority of customers who lost power after this morning’s storms will be back online by tonight, with a small number possibly remaining out until tomorrow. We encourage our customers to remain safe and keep their distance from down electrical equipment and use portable generators as intended.
