Entergy: Power restored to downtown Baton Rouge after transformer fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (WVLA/WGMB) — Entergy has restored power to roughly 200 customers in downtown Baton Rouge after a fire Saturday afternoon.

A company spokesperson attributes the outage to an underground transformer that caught fire on Florida St., between Third St. and Lafayette St., Saturday at around 12:30 p.m. Entergy cut off power from the site, as the Baton Rouge Fire Department extinguished the fire..
