BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana State University is welcoming families to the AgCenter Botanical Gardens at Burden on Saturday, Jan. 22 for Arbor Day.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., families will have the chance to help reforest Burden Woods by Native planting trees. The forest was seriously damaged due to Hurricane Gustav in 2008. Families can also participate in a scavenger hunt, enjoy storytime in the garden and meet Smokey Bear.

Water and snacks will be provided. Admission is free and native trees will be $15 dollars per piece. The botanical garden is located at 4560 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge, La.
