DONALDSONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who is believed to be connected to a shooting that happened in Donaldsonville.

On April 16, deputies responded to a reported shooting on St. Vincent Street in Donaldsonville around 5:30 p.m. The sheriff’s office said a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds in both legs and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Through an investigation, detectives were able to identify 43-year-old Jeffrey Johnson Jr. and 34-year-old Cavell Scieneaux as suspects. They were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Johnson is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and aggravated assault with a firearm. Scieneaux is charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, aggravated criminal damage to property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, illegal carrying of a weapon, and aggravated assault with a firearm.

APSO detectives are searching for Jeffrey Johnson III, the son of Jeffrey Johnson Jr. He is wanted for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons, illegally supplying a felon with a firearm, and possession with intent to distribute Sch I.
