FEMA: Nov. 29 deadline to apply for disaster assistance approaches

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Hurricane Ida survivors have one week left to apply for FEMA assistance.

The deadline is next week on Monday, Nov. 29.

Disaster assistance covers rental assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, personal property losses and other disaster-related needs not covered by insurance, according to FEMA officials.

Applications can be filled online at DisasterAssistance.gov or over the phone by calling 800-621-3362 or (TTY) 800-462-7585.

FEMA officials also remind disaster survivors to apply for a U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loan by Nov. 29. Applications can be made at sba.gov/disaster-assistance, calling customer service at 800-659-2955 (TTY) 800-877-8339, or emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
