BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – FEMA and East Baton Rouge Parish’s ongoing response and recovery mission to support Hurricane Ida survivors has a new center – and this one is mobile.

On Friday, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced the opening of a Mobile Registration Intake Center in East Baton Rouge Parish.

The centers are operated by FEMA personnel and serve as a point of registration and information for eligible individuals and families.

The Mobile Registration Center in EBR is located on the second floor of the Main Library at 7711 Goodwood Blvd. in Baton Rouge.

Broome said that the mobile registration centers are one registration option available to hurricane survivors, especially those without access to internet service or telephones.

The EBR site will open on Wednesday, Sept. 15 and operate until Wednesday, Sept. 22. The site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“We want every eligible survivor to register with FEMA and apply for federal disaster assistance,” Broome said. “The centers are just one of a number of ways they can do that.”

The center will operate under COVID-19 protocols to protect the health and safety of registrants. All registrants are required to wear masks or face coverings when visiting a site.
