ST. FRANCISVILLE, La (BRPROUD) ––– If you are looking for something fun and spooky this Halloween, why not try one of the most haunted houses in America, The Myrtles?

The haunted bed and breakfast is adding to its lineup with Boos, Brews, and BBQ this Halloween. “We’re going to be set up in our courtyard here serving gumbo, barbecue, and drinks from the bar window,” said Sales and Marketing Manager for the Myrtles, Mary-Glenn Miller. She adds there will also be a scavenger hunt for kids and a photo contest where you could win a free overnight stay at the Myrtles.

The mansion draws in more than 100,000 people each year, hoping to spot a sign from one of the mansion’s many long-time residents. “You never know when you’re going to hear something go bump in the night… or we have people in our tour groups catch figures in the mirror that we’re not in the tour group… that’s kind of the fun of it,” says Myrtles Tour Guide, Hayley Wayne. The tour schedule is usually somewhat limited, but tours are available every night leading up to Halloween.

Overnight accommodations are probably one of our biggest attractions, along with our tours,” Miller explains, but the property is expanding to be more like a boutique hotel. She adds, “we also have a restaurant on property and recently opened our newest coffee shop, Elta.”

Boos, Brews, and BBQ is from 5–7 p.m. on October 31.

The Myrtles is located at 7747 U.S. Highway 61 in St. Francisville. For more information on events and scheduling a tour, visit their website here.
