BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified the 17-year-old girl who was shot on Florida Boulevard on Friday.

According to the police, officers were called to the 10000 block of Florida Boulevard at 6:52 p.m. on Friday. Alashia Collins, a 17-year-old girl, was allegedly involved in a physical altercation and was shot while trying to leave the Broadmoor Plantation Apartments. She was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries.

23-year-old Joshua London and 20-year-old Queriana Richard were arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for their involvement in her death.

London was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon. Richard was charged with obstruction of justice.

The shooting is under investigation.
