A woman was arrested in connection with a vehicle fire that occurred on August 8.

The fire occurred in the 1900 block of Hemlock St. around 9 p.m. and Brittinae Cyprian, 25, of Folsom was subsequently charged with Arson with the Intent to Defraud.

Police arrived at the scene of the fire on August 8 to find a 2016 Chevy Equinox in the roadway.

The Equinox was registered to Cyprian and police were unable to locate the car owner at the scene.

Police contacted Cyprian and the suspect in this case “stated that the vehicle was stolen from her residence in Folsom.”

According to the affidavit, Cyprian contacted All State Insurance and claimed that the 2016 Chevy Equinox was stolen.

Five days after the fire, Cyprian gave a statement to police admitting that “she gave a black male known only as “D” $250 to get rid of her 2016 Chevy Equinox.”

Cyprian said “she was having issues paying her car note.”
