ALBANY, La (BRPROUD) – Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a sexual battery complaint accusing a former Albany Police Department Reserve Officer.

“The victim told detectives she accepted a ride to work from a uniformed officer traveling in his personal vehicle,” Sheriff Jason Ard says. “She recognized the driver as 71-year-old Thomas Cutri, Jr.”

“Once inside the vehicle, the victim says she was touched inappropriately,” Ard says.

According to the sheriff’s office, Albany Police Chief Boyd Wild confirmed Curti Jr. worked as a Reserve Officer for Albany Police Department since 2019.

“This type of behavior will not be tolerated,” Wild says. “Cutri, Jr. is no longer serving as a reserve Albany Police Officer.”

Wild says Albany Police Department will operate fully in the investigation.

The sheriff’s office says that Curti, Jr. is being processed into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on sexual battery and malfeasance in office charges.
