BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A man accused of starting a fire under the truck of his former manager at a Baton Rouge restaurant in September was arrested on charges of simple arson and simple criminal damage to property.
The Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD) said investigators were called to the Fiery Crab on Citiplace Court on Monday, Sept. 12 where the general manager of the restaurant told them he found a small fire under his truck when leaving before 10 p.m. He told investigators he found a broken glass bottle with a wet rag coming from the bottle’s neck, a Molotov cocktail, after moving the truck.
Investigators learned from the manager that he has recently fired an employee, identified as 25-year-old Jordan Koota, the same day, according to BRFD.
Koota was arrested Monday, Dec. 12 in connection to the crime.
