IBERVILLE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — A former Iberville deputy has been found guilty by a jury for his involvement in child pornography and sexual abuse of animals.

According to District Attorney Tony Clayton, the trial against Shaderick Jones, 45, of Port Allen, lasted four days and ended with a verdict on Friday, Sept. 23. The sentencing was conducted by District Judge Tonya Lurry.

Jones was previously indicted in 2019 on this case, but officials say the case was reopened after a video was reported to the police by Facebook Messenger. A search warrant was performed and numerous images of child pornography were found in Jones’ mobile devices, as well as evidence of sexual abuse of animals.

Shaderick Jones is found guilty and has been charged with 24 counts of child pornography and 55 counts of sexual abuse of animals.
