Larourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell announced today that former Lockport Police Chef Warren Vedros, Sr. has pleaded guilty to multiple charges filed against him.  According to a news release, Vedros and his attorney filed an open ended plea on Tuesday, March 26th, which means a plea offer was not made by the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office prompting Vedros to plead guilty.

Assistant District Attorney Jason Chatagnier, who prosecuted the case, said “Since Mr. Vedros pled guilty to each charge the grand jury indicted him on, we feel we’ve done our job.”

Those charges included Theft, Forgery, three counts of Malfeasance in Office, and three  counts of Filing False Public Records.

Following the open ended plea, Vedros was sentenced by the Honorable F. Hugh Larose to three years supervised probation and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to the Lafourche Parish Government.
