BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Moderna vaccine was given to three special people earlier this week.
100-year-old Elmo Sholes, 96-year-old Marion Bahlinger and 96-year-old Leonard Bell are WWII veterans and each of them received the vaccine on Wednesday, January 13.
The vaccines were administered at the Baton Rouge VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic.
According to the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, “Leonard Bell served in the South Pacific and Marion Bahlinger is a former prisoner of war.”
Along with some veterans, health care workers on the front line were also given the vaccine.
The Baton Rouge VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic is located at 7968 Essen Park Ave.
