BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Governor John Bel Edwards says as of now there are four deaths, with one confirmed, possibly related to the severe weather on Monday.

  • In West Baton Rouge, one person rescued, one person still missing, and one dead.
  • Thirty-three-year-old Justin Blaine Thompson was found dead in vehicle under the Bluebonnet overpass, confirmed by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
  • Two deaths are currently under investigation.

“The worst place you can be during a flash flood warning is in your vehicle in the street,” said Edwards.

He’s asking everyone to not repeat what happened last night and stay indoors, find a safe spot, and evacuate safely when you need to.
