BATON ROUGE, La. (FOX 44) (NBC LOCAL 33) – The Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady needs your help. It is hosting a food drive this week for people of Haiti because food supplies are low, according to a news release.
“The public is invited to donate needed items that will be sent to Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The country was devastated in 2010 by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake and Hurricane Matthew in 2016, a category 4 storm that hit the area of the island where the convent and clinic are located,” stated the release.
The Sister of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady are collecting:
- Dry beans (no canned)
- Powdered milk
- Powdered baby formula
- Basic school supplies (including pens, pencils, backpack, crayons, chalk and rulers)
- Hard plastic toys
You can bring the donations to Parking Lot number four at Our Lady of the Lake of O’Donovan Drive on Thursday, July 25, from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, July 26, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
