French Settlement police chief Harry Brignac announced his resignation Wednesday.
According to the Secretary of State’s office, Brignac relinquished his position on October 31, 2018.
The Secretary of State’s website has already updated the French Settlement police chief vacancy.
This departure comes on the heels of Brignac being arrested for allowing his wife to drive a French Settlement patrol car on a suspended license.
We’re told an interim police chief has not been selected yet but officials have 20 days to make an appointment.
No other information is available at this time.
Updates will be provided as they emerge.
