JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) — The first Louisiana team to win the Little League World Series may soon visit the White House, thanks to a presidential invitation.

In a tweet Sunday night, President Donald Trump agreed to welcome the Eastbank All-Stars to the executive mansion. The commander-in-chief posted the message shortly after the team’s title-clinching 8-0 win against Curacao.

President Trump extended the invitation at the request of House Republican Whip Steve Scalise, who represents Louisiana’s first congressional district.

Exactly when the Little League team would visit the White House remains unclear.
