WASHINGTON (BRPROUD) — Louisiana will be receiving $43,845,000 in federal dollars to replace school buses across the state.

A total of 111 buses will be replaced using Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) money, according to a Wednesday announcement from Senator Bill Cassidy.

“A new fleet of school buses gives parents the peace of mind that their children have safe, reliable transportation to school,” said Cassidy. “The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continues delivering for Louisiana communities.”

In the Greater Baton Rouge area, East Baton Rouge Parish will receive $7,505,000 for 19 new buses and Pointe Coupee Parish will receive $9,480,000 for 24 new buses.
