GaitWay Therapeutic Horsemanship, an equine therapy center in St. Gabriel, La. is changing lives one stride at a time. 

The stables provides a unique to approach to therapy for children and adults living with disabilities. According to Gaitway, riders will grow stronger mentally and physically. 

People with cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delays, scoliosis, ADHD, depression, anxiety, Joubert’s syndrome, traumatic head injuries, multiple sclerosis and more can all benefit from interacting with the horses at Gaitway. 


“Riding works with other therapies to make our clients stronger,” Certified path instructor Laura Powell said. “In just four years I saw a patient go from being wheelchair bound to walking from his car to his horse….It showed me that what we do here matters, and it works!”
