BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Geaux Get Tested, that is what the mayor’s office would like everyone to do in the near future.
The program is offering free, self-administered COVID-19 tests at various sites throughout the area.
Those sites include:
- Lamar Dixon Expo
- Cortana Mall
- Alex Box Stadium
- FG Clark at Southern
- Healing Place Church on Highland Road
COVID-19 testing site coordinator Kim Hood believes that the testing sites will stay open until August 2nd or August 5th.
That is when tests are expected to run out at these locations.
As of today, the various sites have gone through about one-third of the available tests.
In total, there are 60,000 tests available through this federal surge testing initiative.
