Georgia man arrested in connection to interstate drive-by shooting

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Georgia man faces several counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection to a drive-by shooting.

On July 17, St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a drive-by shooting on I-10. Five individuals were in the vehicle, according to deputies.

After an investigation by deputies, the suspect was identified as 37-year-old Markus Onterious Andrews of Atlanta, Georgia.

Andrews was arrested by St. John the Baptist Sheriff’s Office deputies on July 22 and transported to St. Martin Parish on July 26.

He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and faces five counts of attempted first-degree murder.
