BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Students are close to hearing the morning bell once again as summer comes to an end. In need of school supplies? Here is a list of back-to-school giveaways happening Saturday in the Baton Rouge area.

District 6 Back to School Giveaway

This giveaway, hosted by Metropolitan Councilman Cleve Dunn, Jr., will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Idea Bridge School (1500 N. Airway Drive) Saturday, July 30.

This event is a collaboration with the District 6 office, Entergy, Amazon, Runner’s Courier Service, Be the Blessing, Idea, Republic Services, Jacobs, Baton Rouge Metro Airport (BTR), Waste Management, Sadenae’ Hair Studio, Judge Don Johnson, Metro Health, Cajun Cowboy Kitchen and Boil & Roux.

Main Street Pilot Club and Baker Fire Department Bike Safety

Children between the ages of five to 12 can receive a free bike helmet Saturday, July 30 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Baker Fire Department (3701 Groom Road in Baker).

District 7 Pack the Sack Expo and Giveaway

The District 7 community is invited to enjoy, food, music, games, and more at the Annual Pack the Sack Expo and Giveaway Saturday, July 30 from 9 a.m. at Capitol Middle School (5100 Greenwell Springs Road).

This event is a collaboration with Mayor Pro Tempore LaMont Cole, the MLK Community Center, Capitol Middle School, Baton Rouge Police Department, and other community partners.

Back to School Extravaganza

Backpacks, food boxes, COVID-19 vaccines, and dental screenings will be given out to students from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at Living Faith Christian Center (6375 Winbourne Avenue).

This event is hosted by State Rep. Denise Marcelle.

Annual Back to School Extravaganza

Students in the Northdale community and its surrounding areas can attend the Annual Back to School Extravaganza Saturday, July 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Madison Avenue BREC Park (1820 Madison Avenue).

This event is hosted by Acceptance Ambulatory Clinic and Total Restoration LLC.
