BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Gonzales man convicted of possessing illegal firearms was sentenced to 100 months in prison, according to U.S Attorney Ronald C. Gathe, Jr.

A news release from the Middle District of Louisiana says State Police detectives searched the home of Tylan Tilford, 29, on March 16, 2020, where a firearm was hidden under a pillow and five other firearms were located in Tilford’s mother’s bedroom and bathroom were found. Tilford admitted to owning the firearms and putting them in his mother’s room to authorities.

Tilford was previously convicted in Ascension Parish in March 2012 of simple burglary and in November 2015 of aggravated assault with a firearm, according to Gathe.
