GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — With gas prices continuing to rise every day, Gonzales residents are happy to have a new Ochsner facility where they can get the care that they need.

“We look forward to bringing health care services, rapid access, and bringing access to care across the region,” said Chuck Daigle, CEO of Ochsner Baton Rouge.

Ochsner Health opens its fourth facility in the city of Gonzales. The rapidly growing city needed a center that can provide primary and specialty care.

“We need more access to care in these regions. You know, obviously, your parish has been the fastest growing, continuing to be the fastest growing in the state and we continue to look at that and know that more and more people need access to care,” continued Daigle.

The 25 million dollar facility will offer special services.

“Radiology imaging suite, and so we also have multi specialties that’s going to be routing here through this clinic,” explained Lynnette Matherne, the clinic operations manager.

The radiology imaging suite will offer MRIs and mammograms. Community members say they are happy they no longer have to drive 30 mins to get the help that they need.

“And I hear it over and over again, thank God we don’t have to drive to Baton Rouge any longer,” said Mayor Barney Arceneaux.

The facility will start taking patients on June 14th.
