GONZALES, La. (BRPROUD) — Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Gonzales is hosting a fundraiser Thursday to help Allie Rice’s family with funeral costs.

The fundraiser will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Walk-On’s at 14569 Airline Highway.

LSU senior Allison “Allie” Rice, 21, was shot to death early morning Friday, Sept. 16 in her vehicle on Government Street. A suspect nor a motive has been named by the Baton Rouge Police Department.

BRPD reiterated that detectives are following all leads in the case during a news conference addressing public safety. Police also addressed rumors surrounding Rice’s death, stating that there has been no evidence indicating that she was targeted in the shooting.

A reward for a tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspect accused of killing Rice has risen to $55,000. The Shed, a local restaurant Rice worked at, put up the first $10,000 before the amount grew and Crime Stoppers created a separate award valued at $5,000.
