The number of patients possibly impacted by the Coronavirus across Louisiana continues to rise. While hospital staff worry over a shortage of protective gear to keep them safe from this highly contagious disease.
The head of Baton Rouge General has started thinking about creative measures to prevent medical workers from running out of supplies.

Hospital staff says supply shortages due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic are affecting the local healthcare community. Now, the hospital is asking for supply help from local businesses and community organizations.

Officials at the hospital say they need help from places like dentist and medical offices, construction companies and industry organizations.

Some of the supplies needed include masks of any kind, safety goggles and nitrile gloves.

Baton Rouge General says it is a critical time and the hospitals need to be able to provide safe care to their patients and protect their staff.
