BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) — A bill addressing the wage issues in the Capital City will be presented to the House committee on Thursday.

Gov. Edwards tweeted in support to sign the bill, saying that believes gender wage gaps are unacceptable in Louisiana.

“When it comes to pay, Louisiana has long been left behind. Our $7.25 minimum wage from 13 years ago and our gender wage gap are simply unacceptable. A number of bills addressing these wage issues are being heard today. Get them to my desk, and I’ll proudly sign them,” said Gov. Edwards
