It’s been a historical week as the fight against COVID-19 continues to push forward with two vaccines now making its way across the state to essential workers and that’ll be just one of the topics during Governor John Bel Edwards press conference Tuesday.

Edwards is holding is weekly presser earlier this week because of the Christmas holiday.

During his last news conference on Thursday, Edwards is concerned about another surge from gatherings during this holiday season.

The last surge started in the month of November which the state is still dealing with.

There’s a possibility of a Christmas surge on top of that with an already high level of positive cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

Edwards is expected to make an announcement about his next executive order…it’s not clear what it will look like, but he says he will not lessen restrictions.

The news conference is set to start at 2:30 p.m.
