BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Louisiana’s Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) will host its 5k walk on Saturday, Oct 22 at BREC Forest Community Park.

Registration for Walk like MADD begins at 8:30 p.m. behind the recreation center. The walk begins at 9 a.m. in the same location. Registration is $20 for those ages five through 21, and $25 for those who are 21 and over.

“We walk to finish the job that was started by a grieving mother in 1980. Now in our 41st year,
MADD has saved more than 370,000 lives and has served more than 840,000 victims,” Program Manager Sunny House said. “Walk Like MADD will raise mission-critical funds to help save lives in Louisiana.”

Funds raised through Walk Like MADD help MADD’s mission: end drunk driving and fight drugged driving.

“We are proud to support MADD in their efforts to end drunk driving, and we encourage everyone to register for the Louisiana Walk Like MADD,” explained Attorney Greg DiLeo.

MADD has other options to participate for those who choose not to walk. BREC Forest Community Park is located at 13900 South Harrell, S Harrells Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge, La  70816.

“When someone signs up for Walk Like MADD, they become a part of history,” DiLeo said. “With their help, MADD will make drunk driving a thing of the past.”
