BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force confirms that a gun was found on a school bus at Glen Oaks High School around 6:50 this morning.

Authorities say that the school administration did random search of students as they exited the bus. A 14-year-old student reportedly left his bag on the bus. Administrators found a loaded 9 mm handgun in the backpack with information identifying the student.

No threats were reported.

The student has been charged with Illegally Carrying of a Firearm on a School property and Firearm Free Zone.
