BATON ROUGE, LA (BRPROUD) – If you’re looking for a quick, full-body workout that fits into a fast-paced lifestyle, F-45 may be just the place for you. In this week’s Healthy Living segment, Carly Laing gives us an inside look at this high intensity, functional fitness exercise.
It’s functional, it’s high-intensity and it only takes 45 minutes. We’re talking about F-45 Training.
“The F stands for functional. 45 stands for 45 minutes. So, we kind of cater to that young professional or that individual that understands that fitness, wellness is a part of our life but it also has to fit in with all the other things going on,” Ranaudo said.
F-45 City Square Baton Rouge Owner Anthony Ranaudo said F-45 is perfect for those with busy schedules.
“Each day it’s a different station, a different type of workout. We kinda mix it in between three days a week of cardio, three days a week of weightlifting and then there’s a hybrid day when we throw a DJ in here on Saturday mornings where it’s an hour workout instead of 45 minutes,” Ranaudo said.
You’re going to sweat, your heart rate will be up, all while building on everyday functional movements.
“If you’re a mom carrying kids, we’re strengthening the core. If you got to go pick something off the ground, we’re doing a lot of squats,” Ranaudo said.
Don’t let the intensity level fool you, Ranaudo said anyone can do it.
“My background is in professional baseball and I was working out with a 71-year-old woman. The stations are designed with various weights and different expertise levels. So, I can be working out next to somebody who has never worked out before and I’ve worked out for 20 years. I’m doing mine and getting my heart rate and exercise up to where I need and he or she is doing what they need for their individual program,” Ranaudo said.
But, remember with any routine, it’s all about balance.
“We understand what Louisiana loves. We like drinking, we like partying, we like eating but let’s find a way to healthily mix in some movements and wellness. We’re also going to show people that there’s a healthy balance where you can enjoy life. Do a workout but also enjoy life as well,” Ranaudo said.
