BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Summer is in full swing, and with most COVID-19 restrictions lifted, kids’ summer camps are back in business. In this week’s Healthy Living Carly Laing takes us out to a new camp available in Dutchtown.
School is out and kids are eager to enjoy a summer of fun. And that fun can be found at GymFit Dutchtown.
“You can expect to do Ninja Warrior obstacle course training, parkour training, we also do circus arts training,” said Owner Joshua Roberts.
After a year of uncertainty, GymFit Owner Joshua Roberts said summer camp is jumping, literally.
“Most of the kids we keep pretty active. They are going to move for about seven of the nine hours that they are here, outside of lunch and snack time. So it’s a great super active camp,” said Roberts.
The Dutchtown Gymfit camp is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Roberts said campers aren’t the only ones leaving happy at the end of the day.
“That’s one of the biggest compliments we get from parents. Usually, when they pick them up they are usually falling asleep on the way home. So they love that aspect about it. And you know instead of being on laptops and tablets all day we keep them moving and getting the energy out,” said Roberts.
