Home on Columbus Dunn Dr. is a ‘total loss’ after early morning fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a blaze at 541 Columbus Dunn Dr. around 5:20 a.m. on Friday, March 19.

“Firefighters arrived on scene to find the house fully engulfed in flames,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Firefighters immediately went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

It took firefighters around 15 minutes to put the fire out.

BRFD says, “they were able to keep the fire from spreading to the neighboring home.”

The home sustained $65,000 in damages and is considered a ‘total loss.’

EMS and BRPD assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.

Fire investigators are still working to figure out how the fire started on Friday morning.
