Homeless outreach program holds toy drive for families in need

GONZALES, La (BRPROUD) – An outreach program in Gonzales is holding a gift drive for children and families in need.

The Heaven’s Care mission is to end homelessness. For the holiday season, Heaven’s Care has opened a toy drive called Operation Christmas 2021. The organization is asking for cash and toy donations for newborns up to age 14. Gifts should be new and unwrapped. Cash donations will be used to purchase gifts.

The gift giveaway will close on Sunday, Dec. 19. Applicants must apply for the gifts that are donated. The gift distribution will be at VFW Hall Gonzales. The hall is located at 42430 Churchpoint Road in Gonzales, La. The Christmas Toy Drive closes on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. Drop-off locations can be found at Petstar Animal Hospital in Prairieville, Petsmart in Gonzales and Agape Baptist Church in Livingston.

The cash donations need to be in the form of a check and mailed to Operation Christmas 2021 to P.O. Box 268, Duplessis, La 70728. Checks need to be written out to Heaven’s Care.
