Hungry burglars snipe 400 lbs of crawfish from a downtown seafood spot


Have you noticed anyone with more crawfish than usual? 

A downtown Baton Rouge restaurant was hit by famished robbers who broke in and made off with four-hundred pounds of crawfish Thursday. 

The owner of Pit-N-Peel on Government Street reported that nearly $1,200 worth of crawfish was taken between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

A police report has been filed and officials are reviewing video surveillance. 

BRPD released the following statement about the incident:

Today around 7:30am we responded to 2101 Government St. regarding a vehicle burglary. It was reported that around 6 bags of crawfish were taken from a food truck. No known suspects at this time. Investigation is ongoing”
