I-10 reopens in both directions at Louisiana-Mississippi state line after overnight accident

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (BRPROUD) – Motorists near the Louisiana-Mississippi state line are receiving some good news on Tuesday morning.


According to the Louisiana State Police, “All lanes of I-10 are back open. Please continue to expect delays, due to heavy congestion, around the Slidell and LA/MS state line area.”


The Louisiana State Police is monitoring the scene of a crash involving a semi-truck car hauler.

The crash took place on the Pearl River Bridge at the LA/MS state line.

According to the Louisiana State Police, “I-10 westbound and eastbound lanes at the Pearl River Bridge (LA/MS state line) are currently closed due to a semi-truck car hauler striking the bridge.”

If you can avoid taking this route, motorists are advised to do so as delays are expected for the forseeable future.

Cleanup at the scene is ongoing and MHP Troop K confirms that the driver of the semi-truck car hauler was not hurt.

The bridge will need to be inspected before it can reopen to traffic.
