BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – The Raising Canes River Center is bringing back the annual Skating on the River, transforming the arena into a winter wonderland starting December 17.

It’s an event open to all ages, but tickets are required in advance. Prices range between $12 and $14 and can be purchased here

Before you lace up your skates, there are a few things the River Center wants you to know. Skates are regularly sanitized, but they are heavily encouraging you to bring socks to wear with your skates. It will not only make it a cleaner experience, but it will also be much more comfortable. As of December 10, the River Center is not a cashless operation, so be sure to bring a credit or debit card. They also have a clear bag policy in place to ensure the safety of everyone in the arena.

If you’re not an experienced skater, lessons are available in 20-minute sessions for $20 on the following dates:

  • Saturday, December 18
  • Sunday, December 19
  • Friday, December 24
  • Sunday, December 26
  • Friday, December 31

You can book your lesson here

Skating is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The rink is at the Raising Cane’s River Center at 275 South River Road, Baton Rouge, LA.
