Infant dead after car crash on North I-110

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Baton Rouge Police Traffic Homicide Detectives are investigating a fatal traffic crash that happened in the 8100 block of North I-110 on May 9.

The crash involved a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, a 2008 Pontiac G6, and a possible third unknown vehicle.

Detectives were told that an unknown vehicle struck the side-rear of the Impala causing it to lose control and strike a concrete barrier on the right side of the roadway.

The impact caused the Impala to flip over.

A passenger in the Impala, identified as, one-year-old Ruben Scott Jr., was not properly secured and was ejected from the vehicle, BRPD says.

The driver of the Pontiac was uninjured during the crash. One passenger in the Impala suffered non-life threatning injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver and two other passengers in the Impala were uninjured during the crash.

This is an ongoing investigation.
