BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says inspections on the I-10 Mississippi River Bridge are set to begin on July 11.
According to DOTD, the inspections are to ensure the bridge’s structural safety and will take place daily from Monday, July 11 to Saturday, July 30 from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. During inspections, rolling closures will take place twice a day for equipment and crew drop-off and pickup.
Officials said there will be lane closures on Aug. 13 and Aug. 14 for bridge inspection.
To lower the chances of disrupting traffic, DOTD said it will be using a rope-access method to get to most parts of the bridge.
