BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A juvenile faces an aggravated arson charge after allegedly starting a fire inside their cell.
Baton Rouge firefighters responded to a fire at the Juvenile Detention Center at 1:24 p.m. Firefighters found evidence of a small fire inside one of the holding cells. The fire was extinguished before BRFD’s arrival by staff.
The fire was determined to be intentional, according to a BRFD investigator. Officials discovered that the juvenile in the cell set fire to their bed linens and trash.
