BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened in the 6700 block of Renoir Avenue around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

According to BRPD, officers were responding to a call about a verbal altercation between two students, one male, and one female, at Second Chance Academy. The verbal altercation led to a shooting. The 15-year-old male student fired shots at the female’s car. The car was empty at the time of the shooting and no injuries were reported.

The 15-year-old male student was allegedly wearing an ankle monitor, police say.

BRPD has the 15-year-old shooter in custody.
