Kel Custom Classics a total loss after unintentional fire

The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire at 12233 S. Choctaw Dr. a little before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.

BRFD said when firefighters arrived at Kei Custom Classics, smoke was seen “coming from the building.”

After arriving, firefighters took 35 minutes to put the fire out.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “because it was a medal building the fire was contained inside.” 

Seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder were used to extinguish the fire. 

The structure was valued at $150,000 and the business is considered a total loss after the fire.

BRFD said the fire “had consumed most of the structure.”  

Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was unintentional. 

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene of the fire.
