BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Knock Knock Children’s Museum has announced a new Executive Director, effective as of Thursday Sept. 1.

After review, the Knock Knock Children’s Museum have selected Christina Melton as the new executive director. Melton has 30 years of experience in public sector senior management and broadcasting operations, corporate communications, and community outreach.

“We were very deliberative with our search, and it has paid off for Knock Knock and the community as a whole,” said Rolfe Miller, Board Chair for Knock Knock Children’s Museum. “Christina is that rare person who has the business acumen to be a great financial steward of Knock Knock shepherding our future growth as well as the creative vision to continue developing Knock Knock’s position as a world-class destination for early childhood learning. The fact that she is local and has strong connections to Baton Rouge and Louisiana is a bonus. We are very excited for her to take the reins.”

“The opportunity to lead this dynamic museum is a dream come true,” said Melton. “As the Capital Region’s leader in early childhood learning, Knock Knock is uniquely poised to make positive impacts on the lives of all children in our community.

“My time at Emergent Method was a wonderful and rewarding experience. But I am excited for the new adventures that await here at Knock Knock. I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running and taking this already exceptional museum to new heights.”
