La. Secretary of State sends reminder of what voters need to know ahead of election day

Local News

We’re just 24 hours away from the runoff race and the Secretary of State’s office sent out some reminders for those heading out to vote on Saturday.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Voters can find their polling location and sample ballot by downloading the free GeauxVote Mobile app for smartphones or by visiting www.geauxvote.com.

For those heading to the polls, you should bring an ID with them to vote whether that’s Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana special id card, passport or a digital license via LA wallet.

Voters without an ID will be required to fill out an affidavit but will be allowed to vote.

All eyes tomorrow will be on the governor’s race against incumbent John Bel Edwards and businessman Eddie Rispone as one fights to stay in as governor and the other hopes to take over that title.
