A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run Sunday evening behind the Lafayette Children’s Museum, according to police.

Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff said the driver of an older model SUV drove through the crowd attending Festival International, struck a pedestrian and then sped off.

Police are trying to track down the vehicle, which has been described as an older model blue Chevy Tahoe with a maroon front right fender.

Witnesses say the vehicle was last seen heading north on the Evangeline Thruway to I-10.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Ratcliff said the victim sustained minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department at (337) 291-8600.
