BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge man’s home near Government Street was searched by detectives Wednesday for property allegedly stolen from an unoccupied Jackson home.
The East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on Saturday, Aug. 27 into a burglary on Dawson Road in Jackson where several vehicles, three utility trailers, a dirt bike, and firearms were stolen from an unoccupied 100-acre home.
Detectives were tipped about unknown people at the Dawson Road property on Tuesday, Aug. 30, and were able to identify and arrest two suspects. The sheriff’s office identified the suspects as Timothy Tyler, 46, of Baton Rouge and Jennifer Doiron, 46, of Denham Springs.
The stolen property was recovered at Tyler’s Baton Rouge home on Wednesday with the help of the Baton Rouge Police Department, according to the sheriff’s office. A large police presence was spotted at a home near Camellia Avenue and Government Street.
Tyler faces charges of 88 counts of theft of a firearm, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal possession of stolen things and theft of a motor vehicle.
Doiron faces charges of illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal possession of stolen things, criminal trespass, attempted theft over $1,500 and principal to simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
The investigation is ongoing.
